OLD BUSINESS

Tom has sought help from the rest of the board for assembling and mailing out the late notices and putting together the newsletter. Roberto volunteered to help. Scott is to purchase stamps for the mailings. Note, we would like to email the newsletter when it becomes available, as this would save on postage considerably. Let us know what your email addresses are so we can add you to our distribution list. We are still without a secretary. The association secretary takes minutes at the meetings and assists the board in drafting letters for board review and mailing out approved letters. Any adult can become a secretary, even if you are not a resident. Please see our Contact Us page.

NEW BUSINESS

Roberto raised concerns that the current county water restrictions of one day a week watering may make it difficult for homeowners to maintain the lawn and landscaping in their yards. He predicted the quality of lawns will deteriorate.

Roberto mentioned that he noticed a traffic count is being done that started this past Sunday on Lakemont Hills at the entrance. We need to be observant as to what this may mean for our community. It looks like some entity is studying our traffic flow to determine if changes in the community or roadways are in order. We did not request the study.

A Malletwood Dr home is for sale. We need to send a letter to the homeowner send a copy of the letter to the real estate agent indicating that hoa dues have not been paid for the current year.

There is a large structure in a Peachwood Dr backyard that was previously reported to Code Enforcement. We will talk with the County to see what the status is of the report on this structure.

 Welcome Committee’s Report:

There appears to be new residents on Malletwood Dr. When we determine the address we will deliver a welcome package.

 ARC committee’s report:

No Report.

 Crime report:

On 1/19 the 900 block of Sandywood Dr residence experienced a burglary.

On 2/2 there were 2 reports of thefts on Sandywood Dr, at 4:12pm and 8:30pm.

 Landscaping committee’s report:

Harry has been unable to contact the electrician he knows to see if that electrician can give us a bid on doing the front lights. When Harry contacts him Harry will report back to us. Tom and Roberto covered the fixtures with plastic and painted the entrance walls and all the columns. Scott trimmed the overhanging limbs at the South side of Lakemont Hills Blvd. at Seffner Valrico Rd. We may be able to use the electrician Harry is contacting to install low voltage diffused lighting. There was a discussion about an idea Tom proposed to put a bench(s) over the light fixtures at the front entrance sign(s). The bench(s) should be low enough to the ground with a slim profile to allow view of the sign from the street. At the same time the bench(s) should provide the neighborhood children a place to sit down while waiting for their school buses. Also the bench(s) would provide some protection for the lighting against environmental and human factors as well as reduce glare for motorists.

Emails:

A homeowner on Sandywood Dr emailed us detailing their experience of a burglary. We passed on this email to all homeowners who are on our monthly minutes email distribution list.

The date and time for the next meeting was proposed for Mar 5. After Tom spoke with the staff, he made a reservation for Monday, March 5, at 7:00pm in the Brandon Community Center Arts & Crafts Room (new building).
