NEW BUSINESS

We hosted a community-wide garage sale, Nov 2, advertised in the Flyer. Holding this event again next Sat, Nov 9.

Looking into having house numbers painted on curbside of members’ homes property; perhaps nonmembers would pay to have theirs done.

Tom asked board to give him feedback and ideas for the fall newsletter. It was suggested to mention the problem we are having with people in our community who are walking dogs, but not collecting their dogs’ droppings from lawns.

Email

1. Received an email from a homeowner who heard a rumor that the homeowners association was now ‘defunct’. We replied to the homeowner that the association is alive and well.

2. A resident on Sandywood Dr. requested help with a situation involving another resident on Sandywood who was parking in front of their house. We observed the property for a couple weeks. The situation resolved itself.

3. A resident on Sandywood Dr. indicated that many neighbors are being adversely affected by a garage band that plays in the evenings on Sandywood Dr. The resident also indicated a tree was overhanging too low near the stop sign located at the exit of Peachwood Dr near Sandywood Dr. We sent a letter to the homeowner with the garage band letting them know of the negative affect they are having on many neighbors. We advised them to stop practicing at their house, and to seek permission with their church to practice there, or to seek permission with the Brandon Recreation Center to practice there. We sent a letter to the homeowner of the house with the tree overhanging near the stop sign. We asked them to trim it in the interest of public safety.

4. From time to time we receive emails from Hillsborough County informing us of events that might pertain to us in our community. We are going to ask those who receive email notices from us if they would like to receive these emails as well. We may then have 2 distribution lists for homeowners. One list receives only notifications of our upcoming meetings. The second one receives meeting notifications as well as forwards of Hillsborough County emails.

NEXT MEETING:

Dec 3, 2007. Try to set up meeting with Brandon Community Center. An alternate would be possible at Harry’s house.
